FRIDAY NIGHTERS
IN ALASKA

Thursday - most of the day
at sea, and then to Victoria
and a night time side trip.

he ship sailed for Victoria from Ketchikan last evening and it took the rest of last night and some of today to get to there. Our sidetrip was to be Butchart Gardens, and we did take the trip, however, by the time we got there (it was a 45 minute drive from the ship), it was almost dark. However, we went inside and took the tour of the gardens, but it was difficult to see everything in the dark. We even got lost part of the way into the gardens and after

stumbling around for a while, we finally found a map (see below left) that was well lit on a permanent stand along the walkway and figured out how to find our way. We returned to the ship late just before it pushed off for our overnight journey to Seattle. It would be a busy morning on Friday. We'd be leaving the ship late in the morning and catching a shuttle to the hotel. The cruise was a dream of lifetimes. And weeks later, the things we saw and did were vivid memories, made all the better because we had 6 cameras clicking simultaneously almost every minute of the trip. We think we captured almost all of it.

Our tug awaits us at Victoria
